Three ingenious families decided to pool their resources to realise their dream of building a holiday house on the Island.
Requirements included a good use of the communal indoor and outdoor spaces as well as lots of bedrooms and adequate bathrooms and WCs. Local Building Designer, Stephen Smart worked with the clients to produce a house design they loved and plans that met their needs and then they set out to find a local builder.
The clients have busy work and home lives based in Melbourne therefore after a couple of initial meetings most of the correspondence for the build was conducted via email other than a few meetings for the big ticket items such as windows and the kitchen. CWC supplied weekly updates with photos and the web was an important resource for the clients as colours, materials and fixtures were chosen. CWC completed the build ahead of schedule and the clients let us know that the process had been a positive experience for them. They are now looking forward to enjoying their Island home with swimming and surfing at the local beach followed by well earnt drinks on the deck as they watch the sun go down.
